At a pleasant elevation of around 1500 ft, we are shaded by a variety of Oak trees mingled in with Pines. Wildlife in our area is abundant, as is our variety of ranch animals from horses, llamas, cattle, poultry, and the list goes on.
South Wolf Creek flows nearly year-round through many of our parcels, as well as a variety of seasonal creeks, with the option of treated water being offered by Nevada Irrigation District to an increasing number of properties.
Good schools, local shops and a well-maintained Fire Station are located just minutes away.

Our association consists of over 100 parcels that are generally 20+ acre lots, allowing significant privacy and an opportunity to enjoy the view of nature around you. 90% of our lots are full time residents, while 10% are undeveloped or part-time/vacation residents. Yearly CC&R fees go toward maintaining our privately paved roads and other community needs.
The Board consists of five elected members, including a President. Each Spring, the Board hosts an annual general meeting of the member-ship to hold elections, discuss community-related business, educate members on local issues and to simply enjoy some social time with neighbors. The Board also coordinates special events, like our annual community clean-up and pot luck.
According to the Restated Bylaws recorded in 1996, "The specific and primary purpose of this Association [is] to repair, maintain and manage the Common Area roads within the Golden Oaks real estate common interest development located in the County of Nevada, State of California, to enforce the rules and regulations adopted by the Board of Directors, from time to time, and the covenants, conditions and restrictions of the Declaration, and to otherwise serve the Owners’ common objective of preserving the plan of development and quality of life within Golden Oaks.".
It also maintains
our good standing with the Fire Safe Council of Nevada County.

Whether you come here to retire or to raise a family, our area offers something of interest for everyone. From sites of historical interest, to wineries, music and theatre venues or a hike on one of the many scenic trails that wind their way throughout the hills and canyons of the Foothills.
Many new residents are drawn to the area by the high-quality schools, and the promise of a safer, less hectic place for kids to grow up. It's also a place for people looking to escape the frantic pace of today's modern urban jungle.
While we treasure our distance from the big City and work hard to support our local businesses, we also enjoy relatively close proximity to a complete shopping experience in nearby Roseville. Sacramento is an hour away and the Bay Area is close enough for a day trip.
In the other direction, you can be in the Mountains in a matter of minutes, skiing in a little over an hour and enjoying all the splendor and activities Lake Tahoe has to offer in no time at all.
It is truly the best of all worlds.
